Spiritual Ceremony on a Floating Platform in a Cenote on the Riviera Maya

Florence and Alex came from France to celebrate a spiritual ceremony with their families in the heart of the Riviera Maya.
It takes a 20-minute walk through the jungle to reach the cenote hatsuts. The trail isn’t particularly difficult, but it gives you plenty of time to soak in the lush natural surroundings. And the effort is well worth it upon arrival when you discover the cenote’s crystal-clear water.
The ceremony with the Maya shaman takes place on a floating platform that glides into the middle of the cenote, while the family remains on a terrace halfway up the cliff.
After the ceremony, they were happy to take a dip in the cenote’s waters, and I was able to take some underwater portraits of them that their entire family back in France will surely envy.
As a photographer, I never tire of witnessing these happy moments against the magical natural backdrop of the Riviera Maya.
